Who We Are
Mission: To reduce suicides and fill critical gaps in supportive care options for young adults ages 18 to 28 facing significant mental health challenges.
Garrett’s Space is a nonprofit organization providing a healing, non-medical environment where those struggling with depression and anxiety can find connection, self-worth, and resilience.
Our vision includes the creation of a residential wellness center—a safe and supportive retreat where young adults can engage in holistic, mood-lifting activities, including peer support, meditation, yoga, art, music, journaling, and healthy cooking. Situated on 76 acres of tranquil, natural surroundings in Superior Township, Michigan, our space is designed to foster hope and emotional well-being.
With guidance from mental health experts and faculty from the University of Michigan, we are working to establish a groundbreaking model that can be replicated nationwide. Join us in our mission to create a place of healing, connection, and hope for young adults in need. Every contribution brings us closer to making Garrett’s Space a reality.
What We Do
Our guests will engage in mood-lifting holistic activities, and we will work to promote connections and help them feel better about themselves and their lives. We currently anticipate our guests will stay overnight at the Center for three to four weeks and that there will be concurrent day programming. Services and activities will include: group support, including support from peers who have experienced similar struggles; coping strategies for broken relationships; support for families; and an extensive array of holistic options focused on teaching healthy behaviors and promoting wellness, such as meditation, yoga, art, music, poetry workshops, journaling and healthy cooking. Our guests will be embraced by a warm community of caring staff, including including social workers.
